Online Banking

What is Quick Transfer?
This is the fastest way to move money between your own accounts. You can use this feature to transfer between accounts in your own country and in the same currency.

Can I print from Online Banking?
Yes, you can print Online Banking pages. Some pages have a 'print' button. Selecting the 'print' button creates an easy-to-read, print-friendly version of the page you are viewing. This can then be printed.
Pages without a 'print' button can also be printed, but formatting may be less clear.

Why do some Online Banking pages not display correctly?
Although our Online Banking pages are built to meet all relevant web standards, using some older web browsers may cause minor display errors or prevent you from completing tasks online. Updating your browser to the latest version should resolve these issues.

Does it matter which browser I use?
HSBC's Online Banking service will work in most internet browsers. For the best experience were commend:
• Chrome (latest version)
• Firefox (latest version)
• Internet Explorer (version 9 and above)
• Safari (latest version)

What is a browser?
A browser is what you use to look at websites. Using an up-to-date browser helps to keep you safer and lets you do more online. There are several to choose from and they're all free.

How do I check and update my browser?
Visit the website of your preferred browser to check that you are using an up-to-date version, and follow the instructions to update your browser if necessary:
• Chrome (latest version)
• Firefox (latest version)
• Internet Explorer (version 9 and above)
• Safari (latest version)

There is no left-hand navigation, where has this moved to?
You can now access all Online Banking functions from the menus at the top of the page.

Which file formats can my transaction history be downloaded from Online Banking in?
You can choose to download your transaction history from Online Banking in a CSV file format.

Why has the Online Banking background image changed?
The cityscape background image that you see when using Online Banking changes periodically. This does not affect your online banking experience. You can continue to manage your money online as usual. If you use the HSBC Mobile Banking app you will notice the same background image change.

Why is Global View no longer available?
To make things simpler for you, all globally-linked HSBC accounts now appear on your 'My accounts' page. Your local accounts will appear first, and then any other HSBC accounts in other linked countries or territories will appear further down the list.

How can I make a transfer?
To make a transfer, select the 'Move money' option in Online Banking. This has now replaced the traditional transfer options, making it simpler to move money between your accounts, other accounts, or other bank transfers.

How can I make a Bill Payment?
To make a bill payment, please hover over 'My Banking' at the top of the page and select 'Bill Payment' option. For a saved bills use 'My Bills', for a bill payment that is not saved use 'One-time payment'.

How can I retrieve a Saved transfer?
Please hover over 'My Banking' at the top of the page and select 'My Payees' under 'Move Money', a full list of your payees will be displayed with 'Pay', 'View', or "Delete' option.
On the same page you have the option to add a new payee using 'New Payee'.

How can I retrieve a Saved bill?
Please hover over 'My Banking' at the top of the page and select 'My Payees' under 'Bill Payment', a full list of your payees will be displayed with 'View' or "Delete' option.
On the same page you have the option to add a new payee using 'Add New Payee'.

How can I retrieve my Credit Card last statement transactions?
Please hover over 'My Banking' at the top of the page and select 'Statements', scroll the Account drop list and select the Credit Card, all related statements will be displayed at the bottom.

How can I retrieve my full account statement?
Please hover over 'My Banking' at the top of the page and select 'Statements', scroll the Account drop list and select your Customer number (i.e. 001-123456), all related statements will be displayed at the bottom.

How can I open a new account or a time deposit?
Please hover over 'Products and Services' at the top of the page and select the preferred account type, click on 'Find out more' and then 'Apply Now'.

What should I enter in the 'Bill reference number' when adding a new payee or doing a one-time payment?
Please enter your account with the biller. For mobile and charity you should enter your mobile number, for landline you should enter your landline number including area code, and for electricity you have to enter the number labelled on your original bill with Fawry number.

How can I activate the SMS notification?
Please arrange to contact the Contact Center for initial activation, post that you can hover over your name and select "Notification settings" and register for your accounts.

I am unable to retrieve Charity list that was available on the Transfer page, where can I find it?
Please click on "Make a difference" on the Move Money page to access the charity account numbers.
