Your account also gives you access to

A secured credit card

A secured credit card works in much the same way as a regular 'unsecured' credit card, except you'll need to put down a refundable security deposit first. Your credit limit will then be equal to 90% of the deposit you put down.

Using a secured credit card and paying it off each month can be a good way of building up your credit score when you don't have much of a credit history.

To get your secured credit card, simply apply for a credit card in the usual way once your Youth Savings Account is open. Once you've applied, you'll need to visit a branch to sign your security documents.

Your card will be free of annual fees for the first year.

Term deposit savings accounts

Earn interest on your savings for a fixed period of time with an HSBC Savings Certificate and/or a Time Deposit Account.
